Vegan Treasures of Taketomi
Guided by the island ethos of *utsugumi* — coming together as one — Taketomi preserves its striking village scenery and distinctive traditions. This tour offers a one-of-a-kind culinary experience led by local walking guides, chefs and potters. Begin at the island museum to learn the seasonal calendar of local food, then stroll through a village that retains the original Okinawan landscape while gathering *inochigusā* (medicinal/edible wild herbs) and other island ingredients. In the Former Yonakuni Family Residence (a nationally designated Important Cultural Property), prepare Ryukyuan ceremonial dishes in a vegan style and savour them on *yachimun* tableware crafted by island artisans. Feel the living cycle of nature and culture with all five senses on a singular journey that delves into Taketomi’s history and gastronomy.
